MANCHESTER, Tenn. (AP) _ A man accused of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old Oklahoma City girl is back in custody after escaping from a Tennessee jail.
Authorities in Manchester, Tennessee, say Jeffrey Jack Davis of Newalla was recaptured yesterday about six miles from the jail. He had escaped Saturday by climbing an 8-foot fence surrounding the Coffee County, Tennessee, jail.
County Sheriff Bill Graves says U-S marshals will return Davis to Cleveland County as soon as possible.
Davis faces numerous rape, kidnapping and molestation charges for allegedly abducting and assaulting the 13-year-old girl near Lake Thunderbird.
