JENKS, Okla. (AP) _ A linebacker from Jenks High School has verbally committed to Nebraska.
6-foot-2, 247-pound Phillip Dillard had 101 tackles and six sacks last season as a junior for the Six-A high-school team.
Dillard's size and speed might give him a chance to play early as a middle linebacker. Plus, all of Nebraska's linebackers are expected to graduate after this season.
Dillard chose Nebraska over Oklahoma and Florida.
He says he's firmly committed to the Cornhuskers, but he still plans to make an official visit to Florida this fall.
Offensive lineman Craig Roark from Ada has also committed to the Cornhuskers.
Former Oklahoma coach John Blake is the defensive line coach for the Cornhuskers.
