Good news for some laid off Creek County workers. The US Labor Department says any employee from Kwikset in Bristow, who was either laid off or whose job was downsized after April 2003 is eligible to take part in the Trade Readjustment Assistance Program.

The TRA program provides additional compensation to workers whose jobs were moved out of state. Kwikset is owned by Black and Decker, which over the last few years has bought out several other companies and moved several manufacturing operations to Mexico.

For more information on the TRA program, call Workforce Oklahoma at 1-888-980-WORK.
