OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Branson, Missouri, man is going to prison for life for kidnapping and sexually abusing a 10-year-old Stillwater girl.

Presley Earl Hood was sentenced in federal court in Oklahoma City.

Court documents say Hood took the girl to his home several times with the permission of the child's mother.

He was convicted of taking the girl without permission on May 9th, 2003. Prosecutors say he first took her to his home in Branson, then to Pearland, Texas, and molested her.

Hood was arrested and the girl was recovered in Texas.

Prosecutors say Hood is the first person in the nation to be charged with kidnapping under the "Protect Act." The act is a 2003 federal law allowing increases in penalties for crimes against children.
