ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to work exclusively with the city of Arlington for the next few weeks as the team continues to seek a location for a new stadium.
Arlington has until August 17th to put a tax referendum on the November ballot to increase sales and hotel room taxes to help pay for the stadium.
The proposal also would split the cost between the city and the Cowboys, which currently use Texas Stadium in Irving.
The team had been in talks to build a new 650 (M) million dollar stadium at Fair Park in Dallas with 425 (M) million dollars in public funds.
Those talks were ended by the Cowboys in June.
Arlington is about halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth and already is home to the Texas Rangers baseball team.
