Members of a midtown church driven from their building by a devastating fire, now have a new place to worship.

The church at 8th and Troost burned nearly two weeks ago. The congregation attended service Thursday night for the first time under a new roof. Although he didn't know the congregation, Pastor Paul Aelmore wanted to do what he could to help. So he tracked down those without a church and opened the doors to his.

Worshippers say though they are still saddened by the loss, they had faith another place would somehow be provided. Pastor Jose Alvarado: "I'm very grateful to the pastor because felt in his heart to go out of his way to lend us this temple it's incredible and we'll be forever grateful for that."

Investigators believe the July 3rd blaze was sparked by fireworks.
