A special homecoming for a 20-year old Haskell woman serving in Iraq. Brooke Williams is home on special leave so she can be at her sister's bedside before a major operation. Brooke's sister Ashley has cystic fibrosis and is in the hospital waiting for a lung transplant.
The girls' mother entered Brooke in The News on Six's "Return to the Homefront" contest. With help from the Red Cross, Brooke was greeted by friends and family at the airport. The sisters say it means a lot to be together at such a tough time.
Sister, Ashley Williams: "I'm just so glad she's here. I can't imagine her being over there. I hate her being over there, it's scary."
Soldier, Brooke Williams: "It's really important, so I could be home with her and see everybody else."
Brooke's sister Ashley is number 1 on the lung transplant list in Oklahoma City. She is now just waiting for a matching donor.
The family says it’s praying one will turn up before Brooke has to go back to Iraq.
