(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Parades, picnics, fishing derbys and fireworks shows are part of Fourth of July activities planned statewide.

Sundays events include LibertyFest in Edmond, a celebration that began in 1923 with free watermeon and a horse race.

Other cities with Independence Day events include Ada, Altus, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Stillwater, Lawton and Ponca City.
