OU women's softball player to be on the USA team

(Norman-AP) -- An Oklahoma softball player is heading to British Columbia with the USA National Elite Team. <br/><br/>This is third baseman Norrelle Dickson's second summer with the 16-player team.

(Norman-AP) -- An Oklahoma softball player is heading to British Columbia with the USA National Elite Team.

This is third baseman Norrelle Dickson's second summer with the 16-player team. She's the only Big 12 player this year.

The team will face 15 other national and regional squads Saturday through July eleventh at the Canada Cup.

The Elite squad is a step below the Olympic Team.

It will face the Chinese Taipei Olympic Team and the Olympic squads for New Zealand and Canada. Three other countries -- China, Australia and Japan -- have entered their Olympic teams.
