(Washington-AP) -- Ground ambulance services in Oklahoma will receive higher Medicare payment rates after new fee schedules were adopted Wednesday.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says Medicare payments for Oklahoma ground ambulance services will increase 10.2%.

The new fee schedules are a result of the recent Medicare modernization law.

The new fees also include special bonuses for rural areas with the lowest populations.
