An Oklahoma woman works to keep our soldiers "cool" overseas. Karen Starks is recruiting people who sew to make "hugs".

They're like bandanas soldiers can wrap around their necks to keep cool in the desert. Kenna Baker and her family volunteered. “I feel like I'm actually helping someone. Instead of just saying, oh OK they're helping people.”

Project coordinator Karen Starks: "Temperatures are going to get up to 125 plus in the desert."

Karen would like to send at least a thousand hugs this summer. If you're interested in the project, you can email her at thehugsproject@cox.net.
