(Stillwater-AP) -- Two information technology employees have resigned at Oklahoma State University after school officials discovered they had taken software from another university's Web site without permission.
Oklahoma State says director of software services Brandon LaBonte and his assistant, Michael Hewett, resigned after officials discovered they had taken software from Texas Tech University to make an online calendar.
The two employees formerly worked at Texas Tech and claimed the software was ``open source'' software that could be used by the public.
Texas Tech says the software is the school's intellectual property and cannot be used without permission.
Oklahoma State's general counsel has released a report claiming one of the resigned employees used an old user name to take the software from Texas Tech.
