There was some rodeo action in Sand Springs Saturday but not the kind of rodeo you might expect.

AEP/PSO had a rough couple of weeks restoring power to thousands of customer’s after recent thunderstorms but today they competed in the regional lineman's rodeo. They usually work together but today they battled each other instead of the elements in electric utility line events.

Organizers say it wasn't all fun and games.

Todd Hopwood, AEP/PSO: "The idea is for us to see linemen performing their daily chores and their daily craft and we're out here just recognizing them for what they do and we're emphasizing safety."

Saturday's winners will compete in Kansas City's National Championship in September.
