Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris says he doesn't plan to file criminal charges against a Bixby police officer who shot a golden retriever two weeks ago.
Harris says the Bixby police chief's disciplinary action against officer Cory Forister was "reasonable and appropriate". Forister shot Fluppy three times while the dog was tied to a fence in the backyard.
His injuries were so severe the Benzinger family was forced to put him to sleep. Forister has been assigned to desk work and is required to take a dog aggression class along with the entire Bixby police department.
The Benzingers say they're considering a civil lawsuit to help cover Fluppy’s veterinary and cremation costs.
