(Wichita Falls, Texas-AP) -- A new Oklahoma law makes it harder to get pseudoephedrine tablets -- a key ingredient for making methamphetamine.

But some authorities say Oklahoma's gain is Texas' loss.

Wichita Falls police say people are crossing the state line to buy the product -- adding to an already huge meth problem in North Texas.

The Oklahoma law requires pharmacies to place pseudoephedrine tablets behind store counters or in a locked case.

It also requires customers provide photo identification and a signature to purchase pseudoephedrine tablets -- which are commonly used as cold medications but also are a prime ingredient in the manufacture of the illegal drug.

Since the bill passed, officials say meth lab seizures are down significantly in Oklahoma.

Texas has no such law.
