(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma has the lowest statewide average gasoline price in the nation, at a $1.82.
Tulsa has the lowest metro-area price in the country, at a $1.78.
Oklahoma City has the third-lowest average, at nearly a $1.80.
Triple-A reported the prices for gasoline yesterday. The numbers mostly match those in a report by the US Department of Energy.
AAA and the Energy Department report the national average has dropped below $2 for the first time in nearly a month. The average price dropped by as much as 14 cents a gallon over the past three weeks.
AAA spokesman in Tulsa, Mark Madeja, says uncertainty in the Middle East and low oil production made gas prices jump too high too soon. He expects prices to stabilize and even steadily decline.
