(Purcell-AP) -- A Florida-based company has been charged with illegally storing and transporting hazardous waste while under contract with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Charges filed in McClain County this week allege M-B-E illegally stored and transported about 90 tons of lead-rich hazardous waste in June 2001.
M-B-E has also been charged with falsifying records given to the state Transportation Department. The charges allege M-B-E falsified six payroll records for an employee who never worked for the company.
An investigator with the state Department of Environmental Quality says an investigation of M-B-E is ongoing.
