(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Three people are dead from a seven-car pileup on Interstate 40 in Canadian County west of Oklahoma City.

Several other people were injured in the accident last night just south of Yukon.

Trooper Woody Berry says construction on the highway may have contributed to the pileup.

The trailer of a tractor-trailer rig caught fire and caused a grass fire on the north side of the highway.

A four-mile stretch of the interstate was closed for a time.

Names and ages of those killed were not released immediately.
