CASHION, Okla. (AP) -- Police here are investigating the death of a teenager whose body was found in a sand pile in a housing development near a local school.
A construction worker found the 15-year-old's body about 8 AM Wednesday in a pile north of Cashion Public Schools, Police Chief Ronald Nelson said.
The teen had been reported missing after he didn't return home by 9:30 PM Tuesday. His name wasn't released.
"We basically found him in a dump truck full of sand he'd dug a hole in, and it collapsed on him," Nelson said.
No foul play is suspected, but the cause of death is still undetermined, Nelson said.
"It's very obvious it was an accident," he said. "This is hard, because with a member of the community, a small community, where everybody knows everybody, it makes it tough."
The body was taken to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
