An Oklahoma Boy Scout troop has uncovered a piece of history. It happened in Bristow in Creek County.
What appeared to be an overgrown lot actually turned out to be a forgotten cemetery. They uncovered it recently and the scouts know no matter whose buried here, it should be a place of respect.
So they worked hard to make it look that way. It was an overgrown mess at first. But soon as they cleaned, they found a headstone of a man born in 1887.
Christy Griffith with Cub Scout Pack 571: "He did something in his life, he was important to somebody at some point everybody has a mother and a father, it's sad there isn't anybody left to remember him."
Cub Scout Mikey Griffith: "We tried to find people who knew about the cemetery, but people didn't know, so we just put crosses out here."
Officials say as many as 300 people may be buried there, but there are no burial records.
