(Oklahoma City-AP) -- AAA Oklahoma is predicting a record number of people will be traveling during the Memorial Day weekend, despite record high gas prices.
Triple-A spokesman Chuck Mai says 421,000 Oklahomans are expected to travel by car, light truck or recreational vehicle. More than 62-thousand are expected to travel by plane.
The average price for gas in Oklahoma is just below $1.92 per gallon in Oklahoma today, up 43 cents since February. The average in Oklahoma is the second-lowest in the nation, behind the $1.89 per gallon in South Carolina.
The average price in Oklahoma City is just more than $1.90 a gallon while the average in Tulsa is just under $1.91.
