A Tulsa man and his fiancé are homeless after fire swept through their south Tulsa home early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1:30 AM in the 5500 Block of South 76th East Avenue. Crews say the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived. They tried to knock down the fire from the inside, but had to pull out. And they also had to protect surrounding houses because of strong winds.

Both people inside made it out safely. The cause is under investigation.
