The Tulsa Zoo has been voted one of the top family friendly zoos in the country.

Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune: "Child Magazine, national publication, readership of 4 point 9 million, or 5 million, ranked the Tulsa Zoo as one of the top zoo's in the United States.â€

The magazine ranks the Tulsa Zoo 16th out of 150. The zoo held a special ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the announcement.

Mayor LaFortune credits zoo staff, volunteers and zoo friends for the honor.
