Some local teachers go the star treatment Monday. Teacher Appreciation Week kicked off at Broken Arrow’s Indian Springs Elementary School.
Teachers were escorted down a red carpet and received a certificate and a flower for all of their hard work. Best of all, the kids learned a little more about their teachers when their biographies were broadcast over the PA system.
Tracy Grass, music teacher: "I think it helps them to see us more as a person, than a teacher obviously, but we still need respect."
Many students left their teacher a note or a small gift to say thanks. Teacher Appreciation Week runs through Friday.
