(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Marine from Bokoshe, Oklahoma, was one of two Marines killed Friday in "hostile action" in Iraq.
Former teachers remember Marine Corporal Scott M. Vincent as a quiet student who was determined to make a difference.
Vincent's fifth- and sixth-grade science teacher Diane Reece told The Oklahoman she didn't doubt that Vincent was one of the Marines' finest.
Vincent was a member of Bokoshe High School's academic team. In his senior yearbook, Vincent's motto is the Marines' motto: Semper Fidelis, which means "Always Faithful."
Reece and another teacher say the town is proud and honored that Vincent came from Bokoshe.
He was assigned to the Second Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Second Marine Division, Second Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
The other Marine killed Friday was Corporal Joshua S. Wilfong of Walker, West Virginia.
