Utility costs for customers of the Grand River Dam Authority are going up for the first time in more than a decade.
The 4.5% increase will become effective in mid-summer - the highest use time of the year. The GRDA says the increase is necessary to meet reserve requirements for debt service.
The adjustment will put the GRDA's average cost per hour at $7 to $19 below Oklahoma's investor-owned utilities.
