(Oklahoma City-AP) -- U-S Attorney General John Ashcroft will help dedicate the new downtown federal building next month.
Matt Madison with the General Services Administration says Ashcroft will be one of several dignitaries at the May third invitation-only ceremony.
Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett believes the federal building will be one of the jewels of downtown and serve as a reminder of the city's past.
Cornett says Oklahoma City has moved forward in many ways since the Oklahoma City bombing that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in 1995.
The new building's dedication ceremony will include a fly-over by Tinker Air Force Base's 513th Air Control Group.
The federal building opened in December at Northwest Sixth Street and Harvey Avenue.
