(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State opens a three-game series with Big 12 rival Kansas today in Stillwater.

The Jayhawks have struggled at the start of conference play, despite having the league's top homerun hitter and the batting average leader.

Third baseman Travis Metcalf leads the Big 12 with 13 home runs, and center fielder Matt Baty is hitting .396.

The Jayhawks have struggled with a 5.96 ERA in conference games and enter the series with a 2-and-7 conference record. Oklahoma State is 4-and-4.

The Cowboys have lost three of their last four games, including a 1-to-0 loss Tuesday to Texas-Arlington.
