An 11-year-old Muskogee girl who's suing her school district for religious discrimination now has some powerful backing.
The US Justice Department has been given the go ahead by a judge to join the lawsuit filed by Tallah Hearn.
Hearn is suing the Muskogee School District for $80,000. She was suspended twice for wearing her Muslim head scarf to school because the school says it violates the dress code.
Hearn is being allowed to wear the scarf while the case is pending.
