The next Tulsa city council meeting is Tuesday morning, but how many city councilors will show up?
Councilors Chris Medlock, Sam Roop, Jim Mautino and Jack Henderson missed the first meeting of the new term.
The new council was sworn in Monday - and briefly met to elect new council chair Randy Sullivan. That decision - the first vote of the new group - seems to have sparked a division that caused four of them to skip Thursday’s meeting.
Bill Christiansen, Tulsa City Council: "The rumor is - maybe there's some objection to maybe the council chairman being elected on Monday, but it was a 7 to 2 vote, so it was done fair and square, and I don't know exactly what the reasoning is, but I will tell you this, that I was disappointed in all four of those councilors for doing what they did."
Christiansen hopes the councilors will be able to patch things up next week.
