(Washington-AP) -- Boeing has told its employees it's looking for a buyer of its operations in Tulsa, McAlester and Wichita, Kansas.

The information is in an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press.

Boeing executives say the company is at a point where the next logical step is to find out if there is interest in the Oklahoma and Kansas operations and how much they might be worth.

The memo says the Wichita-Tulsa division will remain a critical supplier to Boeing under any scenario that's studied.

Boeing has announced plans to build parts of its new jet in Tulsa.
