(Tulsa-AP) -- More than 200 Tulsa County properties have lost their designations as agricultural lands and property owners will be forced to pay more in taxes.
County Assessor Ken Yazel reviewed properties and found mansions and soccer fields classified as agricultural.
Under state law, farmland is considered agricultural if it is native pasture, timberland or cropland, or if it is used for livestock.
The classification meant the 205 properties were taxed at fractions of their market values.
The Tulsa World reported that some properties, which are now assessed at millions of dollars, once had annual property taxes of as little as $100.
The reclassification has boosted county property tax rolls by nearly $52-million.
