You've seen lots of our wild friends from the Tulsa Zoo on "6 in the Morning." And now there's one more reason to visit our friends out at Mohawk Park.
The Tulsa Zoo officially cut the ribbon on its brand new Arvest Wildlife Carousel Thursday night. Kids of all ages took a spin on the animal themed ride. It features all the different species and animals that you can find out at the Tulsa Zoo.
But it didn't happen without a little community support. Don Walker, Arvest Bank President: “We knew that the zoo would need a lot of financial assistance to get it completed. We decided that it was a good investment for the bank to be involved with the Tulsa Zoo. Such a treasure for Tulsa. We expect it'll be here forever. It's a great addition to the zoo."
The Arvest Wildlife Carousel opened to the public Friday. And it's for kids of all ages.
This is the first time the Tulsa Zoo has had a carousel since 1968.
