A Tulsa Police officer has survived a firefight in Afghanistan. Corporal Chris Chomosh, of the 45th Infantry Brigade of the Oklahoma National Guard is pictured here.

He is second from the right. He came under fire from suspected al-Qaida soldiers. The firefight lasted nearly half-an-hour before the attackers retreated. Chomosh has been in the Guard for 15 years.

He is an 11-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department.
