(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The fine for driving with an open container of alcohol would increase four-fold under a bill in the Legislature.

A Senate committee approved the bill raising the fine from $50 to $200, sending it to the full Senate for consideration.

Senator Cliff Aldridge says the current $50 fine is about one-third the cost of a speeding ticket.
