(Mooreland-AP) -- A University of Oklahoma Medical Center helicopter medic suffered only bruises after a duck crashed through the windshield of the aircraft in northwestern Oklahoma.
Woodward County Sheriff Les Morton says the air ambulance was carrying a patient from Laverne to Oklahoma City. He says it was traveling 140 miles per hour when it was hit Friday.
The medic suffered bruises to his chest and arms.
The pilot was able to land south of Mooreland and a Woodward ambulance took the two-person crew and a patient to Oklahoma City.
The helicopter is at the Woodward airport until it gets a new windshield and the O-U Medical Center is using an alternate helicopter.
