(Enid-AP) -- Recent rains are helping the wheat crop in northern Oklahoma, but farmers say they don't need much more.
Roger Gribble of the Oklahoma State University Extension Service says a little more rain wouldn't hurt, but another downpour isn't needed.
It's because the rain also is causing growth of a fungus that affects older leaves and some new leaves are turning yellow.
Gribble says the wheat will outgrow the disease as the temperatures become warmer.
