A Thursday morning house fire forced Broken Arrow fire crews into a rescue mode. Firefighters were called to the home in the 400 Block of East Freeport after a report of thick black smoke coming from the home.
They had to rescue an elderly woman in a wheelchair and help an elderly man out of the home. They are both okay. Firefighters were concerned about a third person that used a living space upstairs, but apparently he wasn't home. Crews quickly put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
