(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Those who are caught driving drunk would pay a higher fine under a bill passed in the state House Wednesday.
Representatives approved the bill to raise the fine by $10 with the money to help support trauma care centers in the state.
Representative Bill Paulk says the bill would raise an estimated $5-million a year.
The bill is one of several lawmakers are considering to help the state's trauma care system.
The action comes after the University of Oklahoma Medical School threatened to close its Level One trauma center in Oklahoma City because it was losing money. The OU Medical School has the only Level One trauma center in the state.
