A convicted murderer on Oklahoma's death row has been executed. David Jay Brown was put to death by lethal injection Tuesday night.

He was sentenced to die for the 1998 murder of his former father-in-law. Brown used his final few minutes alive to criticize appeals courts and maintaining his innocence.

His execution was stayed three times before being carried out.
