TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oral Roberts freshmen Ken Tutt and Caleb Green were honored as All-Mid-Continent Conference players Thursday with Tutt also earning the conference's Newcomer of the Year award.
Tutt led the Golden Eagles in scoring this season with 20.7 points per game, while Green averaged 17.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Both were also named to the league's All-Newcomer Team.
They are the first pair of freshmen from the same team to both garner the league's first-team all-conference honors.
Odell Bradley of IUPUI was the conference's player of the year. Oakland's Mike Helms, UMKC's Michael Watson and Centenary's Andrew Wisniewski are the other first team players.
Tutt, a guard who was fifth in the league in scoring, is the second Golden Eagle in three years after Reggie Borges two seasons ago to be tapped as the league's top newcomer.
Green, a forward from Tulsa Memorial High School, led the Mid-Con in rebounding and field goal percentage hitting 59.8 percent of his shots.
The pair led Oral Roberts (17-10, 10-6) to a three-way tie for second place in the league. The Golden Eagles play UMKC Sunday in the conference tournament.
