(Surprise, Arizona-AP) -- Oklahoma's David Purcey and Jarod McAuliffe combined on a four-hitter as the Sooners shut out seventh-ranked Arizona State 6-to-0 in college baseball in Surprise, Arizona.

The shutout breaks Arizona State's NCAA record of 506 consecutive games without being shutout. The last time a Sun Devil team was held scoreless was in 1995 by Southern California.

Purcey gave up just one hit and two walks while striking out six in seven innings.

OU went 2-and-1 in the season opening Coca-Cola Spring Training Classic in Arizona.
