The Tulsa city council is ready to put new restrictions on the sexually oriented businesses.

A controversy arose last month when the city issued a business permit for a new strip club at 51st and Harvard. The new restrictions would prohibit sex shops from locations within 1,000 feet of churches and schools, and require a review before any new permits are issued.

The new restrictions will not affect existing businesses, including the new one that sparked the controversy.
