One person is dead after he was run over by a train in downtown Tulsa. It happened shortly after 9 PM Wednesday near 6th and Wheeling.

Tulsa Police say a Union Pacific train was in the process of switching and going forwards and backwards. A witness says the victim tried to cross the tracks between a couple of train cars.

Tulsa Police Captain Jim Hunter: â€œIn the process of doing that he slipped down and the train started up and unfortunately the train ran over the individual who had fallen onto the tracks.â€

The victims name has not been released.
