The Osage County Sheriffâ€™s office is investigating what looks to be an accidental shooting.

They say a married couple went to check on the house they're building and saw an open door. The man says he told his wife to stay in the car while he took a gun and checked the property.

They say it appears she didn't stay in the car and the husband mistakenly thought she was the prowler and shot her in the head.

She is alive, but in grave condition.
