Search begins for jurors in Terry Nichols trial

(McAlester-AP) -- The Pittsburg County Court clerk says she's now getting responses to questionnaires sent to potential jurors in the murder trial of bombing conspirator Terry Nichols.

Clerk Linda Price Williams sent 1,000 summonses earlier this week to potential jurors. She says she received the first completed form in the mail Friday.

Potential jurors are to attend an orientation session February 23rd and jury selection for the trial is to begin March 1st in McAlester. The trial was moved from Oklahoma County to Pittsburg County because of pre-trial publicity.

Nichols faces 161 state murder charges for his role in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Nichols is already serving life in prison on federal convictions for his part in the bombing.
