Candidate 'approved' ads

There is one thing all presidential candidates agree on. They approve the message in their campaign ads. "I'm Dick Gephardt and I approved this message."
All the candidates say it, because it is required under a new campaign reform law. It's designed to clearly identify ads that the candidate approves, so those that are "not" approved will be obvious.
Elaine Dodd with the Tulsa County Democrats: “And in many cases it was not authorized by the candidates and in many cases it was damaging to the candidate.â€
The tag line appears in campaign ads for all federal offices. The president will have to do it as well once his ads start running.
