(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Former state lawmakers would have to wait before accepting a job as a lobbyist under a bill filed with the Legislature.

Republican state Representative John Trebilcock's bill would force lawmakers to wait two years before being allowed to register as a lobbyist.

Trebilcock says the bill won't make him popular with other members of the Legislature, some of whom he says forget why they went to the state Capitol.
