(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State University officials say the flag of Vietnam will no longer fly in OSU's International Mall.
Student affairs Vice President Lee Bird says the flag is out of the rotation of 118 flags flown on 19 flagpoles. The flags represent the home countries of OSU's international students and are rotated every two weeks.
Some of OSU's 300 Vietnamese-American students objected when the flag was flown in August for the school's eight students from Vietnam.
The Vietnamese-American students say their parents fled the country after the Vietnam War. They suggested OS-U fly the flag of the Republic of South Vietnam, which was defeated in the war.
