(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A man from Moore has died in a fiery crash that shut down Interstate 40 for more than four hours.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Nathan Eugene Thompson died when his car hit a tractor-trailer truck in Midwest City Saturday.

Troopers say Thompson was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of the interstate when he struck the truck head on.

Both vehicles burst into flames and diesel fuel covered the roadway. The driver of the truck, 54-year-old Larry J. Hastings of Paris, Tennessee, was treated and released with minor injuries.
